More than three-quarters of Budapest’s residents are concerned about the increasingly heavy traffic congestions in the city and the resulting air pollution, according to a fresh survey by the Századvég Foundation, which found that “Budapest disapproved” of Mayor Gergely Karácsony’s traffic policies.

The Hármashatár-hegy (the name can be translated into something like “Three Border Mountain”) got its name in the 19th century, as this was the point where the three borders of Buda, Óbuda and Pesthidegkút met. Today these cities have merged into Budapest, but the mountain's name has remained the same.

The biggest statue in Hungary, Miskahuszár (“Miska the Hussar”) is under construction on the so-called Bogár halom at Pákozd, where legend has it that Habsburg general Josip Jelacic stood in September, 1848, before his defeat in battle at the hands of Hungarian soldiers.
